ARLINGTON, Texas — Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish failed to make it through three innings while pitching against his former team. Full Story »
Might as well get used to this, it will repeat over and over and over...no investment (this year) or bad investment(past years), as in Heyward, Darvish, Chatwood, Morrow, & a few others tend to put you back in the mediocre category.
It might only be game #2, but I saw the same ST camp that Maddon has run since 2017, too laid back, too many kids, too many non roster invitee's playing late into it.
Sorry, my boss's in life never said after a vacation, "Hey, you've been on vacation for a while, take it easy!".
I'm not happy early-on with a lot of decisions Maddon has made, but I do think Darvish and Chatwood will do well (or at least a lot better) this year. Heyward has started hitting and driving in runs, and his offense has always been solid. Morrow remains a question mark, and I'm fully inclined to believe Maddon is gone no later that July, if the Cubs aren't in first by 5 games.
